The threefold law is “that which you send out, you receive back threefold.” This is not a guide to living, merely a fact of life.
Most religions have a belief that what you do will be revisited upon you. Whether this is in an afterlife, in this life, or in a future reincarnation, most religions share this belief. One of the big differences between these beliefs is when the blowback happens.
Some believe that you will get eternal reward or punishment based on your life actions. Others believe that your actions in this life define who and what you are when you are reincarnated. My personal belief, shared by Wiccans among others, is that what you send out is returned right now, in this life.
