Centering is about finding your energetic center. This varies from person to person. I may be in your solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, brow (“third eye”) chakra, or sacral chakra. For some reason, perhaps because my first lessons on energy work came from martial arts, I have always felt my energy center was my sacral chakra or chi core.
When trying to determine what your energetic center is, it may help to think about these questions:
- Where do you first feel emotions?
- Where do you first sense energy, or experience intuitive sensations?
- When you raise energy, is there a point in your body where it resonates?
Most sources agree that when you find your center, you will feel at peace, and one with the universe. It is important to find your center before beginning any high-level energy work.
